Through A Glass Darkly

1 Corinthians 13:8: Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Philippians 4:19: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

There is much that we do not know, that we see through a glass darkly. But God knows what we need to know and He knows what we do not need to know. When we need to know something, He will see to it that we will know it. The only things that will keep us from knowing what we need to know will be our neglect of the Bible and our own sin. For instance, if the Lord wants us to go to our neighbor*s house and do something to bless that neighbor and we do not obey Him and we do not go to our neighbor*s house, we won*t need to know what He wanted us to do to bless that neighbor. Whenever we sin, the first thing we need to know is that we have sinned so that we can confess it, forsake it, be forgiven and then we can get back on track and start obeying the Lord step by step again. When we are out of the will of God, the first thing we need do is get back into it. Often the cause of our next sin is that we first neglected the Bible.

Psalms 119:11: Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Proverbs 16:3: Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Psalms 25:14: The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

Deuteronomy 29:29: The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Isaiah 55:8: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Proverbs 1:7: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

I notice that the passage speaks of the beginning of knowledge and just the beginning. And if there is a beginning there is a promise of completion.

Philippians 1:6: Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
